Does the White Mountain® 6-Quart Hand Crank Ice Cream Maker make better ice cream than store-bought? Of course it does. It's rich, dense, creamy, homemade ice cream made with love and with the kind of family-time that makes life worth it.
White Mountain Freezer is the traditional freezer that has been around for many years. They are built with 1/2" Pine wood slat buckets, cast iron gear frame, stainless steel can and a dasher that is stainless steel and dipped in a zinc alloy. This freezer uses a unique triple action motion to churn the ice cream. The handle gear frame is held in place by hooks on the bucket (not any sort of latch). Theses freezers are now made by the Sunbeam Products Company of imported parts. Note, in order to make this budget friendly, they are made of lesser quality than years ago. The White Mountain Ice Cream Freezer is best suited for occasional use.
Friction is caused by moving parts against non-moving parts. Freezers use different methods to deal with the friction. The brass bushings may need periodic food grade grease. The poly bushings are maitenance free.
The dasher scrapes the sides of the can, mixing the ice cream. They are self adjusting.
This what the is the dasher that mixes the ice cream is made from.
The gear frame is the part that holds the gears and the crank attaches to.
The gears inside the gear frame create either a double action or triple action.
The tub is the outside part of the ice cream freezer. It is the part that holds the ice and does not come in contact with any food.
Warranty may cover only certain parts. Check documentation to learn about a specific freezer.
